Just before COVID, James*, 62, kindly offered her a spare room when she found herself without a home due to landlord issues. And one day I said to him, ‘I think I really do love you’ and he said, ‘I was never going to say it first. It always had to come from you.’ He didn’t want to put me in a position where I would have to reciprocate his feelings, so he let me make my feelings known first.”

Nova said she initially chose to connect with James on the website because of their similar values.
