Small detail made Scarlett Johansson almost lose her $29 billion role to play a supporting role in ‘Superman’

Scarlett Johansson is an accomplished actress who has made a name for herself in Hollywood with her versatile performances and personality. She has graced audiences with her talent and beauty for over two decades and continues to be a sought-after actress.

Among her many memorable performances, her portrayal of Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been a hit with audiences worldwide. But Johansson could have made her appearance in the DC instead of the MCU. The Lucy star could have played the role of Lois Lane in 2006, Superman Returns.

Scarlett Johansson first appeared as Black Widow in the 2010 film Iron Man 2 and has since reprised the role in several MCU films. Black Widow, also known as Natasha Romanoff, is a highly skilled spy and assassin who becomes a key member of the Avengers team. Johansson’s performance as the enigmatic character has been praised by fans and critics alike, who have lauded her ability to bring both strength and vulnerability to the role.

In 2021, Johansson starred in a standalone film titled Black Widow, which delves deeper into the character’s backstory and explores her relationships with her fellow spies and family. The film was a box office success. The Under the Skin star has surely cemented her legacy as one of the MCU’s most iconic characters.

Scarlett Johansson Could Have Played The Role Of Lois Lane In Superman Returns

According to reports, Johansson was in the running for the part of Superman’s love interest in 2006, Superman Returns. The Black Widow star was in consideration in the early stages of development, when the film was being helmed by director McG and written by J.J. Abrams. This was before the project eventually became the Bryan Singer-directed Superman Returns. The role went to Kate Bosworth who successfully depicted the character of Lois Lane. If Johansson had been cast as Lois Lane, it’s highly unlikely that she would have been able to take on the role of Black Widow in the MCU.

Lois Lane is a beloved fictional character in the DC Comics universe, Lane is a journalist and Superman’s love interest. As a fearless journalist, Lois is known for her bravery and tenacity in the face of danger. She is a skilled reporter who is dedicated to uncovering the truth, no matter the cost. Her relationship with Superman has been a cornerstone of DC Comics mythology, with their dynamic serving as a central focus in many stories.
