Tennis is a one-man sport that can either make or break a player. Depending on their mindset, the sport can lead them to wonders. Even Novak Djokovic has the same to say, as he answered a wonderful question during an interview with the Indian Wells press.
The questions asked by the interviewers excited the Serbian, as he gave a well-detailed answer that can be an inspirational talk to many. Djokovic stated that tennis has the potential to take a player to the stars and even further.
“I had to dig deep so many times to really overcome challenges and reach history and great achievements. But it also taught me that if you do things in the right way if you’re dedicated on a daily basis to constant improvement approach of trying to perfect your skills, yourself as a person, as an athlete, it will get you to stars and even further,” Novak Djokovic said via the Indian Wells Press.
Over the 20 years of his career, the Serbian has done the unthinkable by becoming one of the greatest players in the sport. Consistently, week after week, the sport has taken the 36-year-old to different heights. Not only Djokovic, but the sport has made the lives of multiple athletes as well, provided they put in the work.
Furthermore, Djokovic also stated that if one visualized and believed in their goal, they could achieve anything possible. From a very young age, Djokovic has shown his dedication to the sport, and in return, the sport has given him a life.
“I think it (tennis) taught me to accept the small losses in life with, you know, figuratively speaking, with more optimism. And that also whatever happens, if you lose a tennis match, there’s always another one coming around the corner,” said Djokovic.
