NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is catching heat online after breaking his silence on the recent allegations made against Roc Nation founder Jay-Z.
The hip-hop mogul has been added to a lawsuit in which a certain Jane Doe is alleging that he r@ped her along with Diddy at a party in 2000 while she was only 13.
Jay-Z rebuffed the accusation with a robust statement daring the alleged victim’s lawyer to file a criminal complaint.
Given Roc Nation’s deal with the NFL—the entertainment company has been taking charge of the Super Bowl halftime since 2020—Goodell was expected to comment on the matter. He did so on Wednesday, claiming that the league is fully aware of the civil lawsuit, but the relationship between them and Jay-Z remains intact.
“We are aware of the civil litigation and Jay Z’s strong response,” he said, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “The relationship is not changing.”

Fans Are Really Unhappy With Roger Goodell’s Reaction To The Allegations Made Against The Rapper
While it appears 50 Cent has his answer after wondering whether the Super Bowl will still happen in 2025, fans aren’t all that happy with it.
“Creepy,” someone wrote in the comments.
“Gross,” another echoed.
“This will be an extremely bad look for the NFL if these allegations are proven true,” someone predicted.
“goodell’s like “we’re aware, but jay-z’s still gonna make money off our halftime shows, so who cares?”,” another shared.
“Ummm read the room Roger,” a fan advised.
“Probably because they have photos of Roger at the Diddy parties😂,” one laughed.
“NFL’s got 99 problems but Jay-Z ain’t one,” a user joked.
“Wow!! Just wait for those other allegations to hit and he’ll be singing a different tune,” someone else claimed.
To be fair, accusations aren’t enough to make someone guilty. If the allegations are proven to be true, Goodell would have no choice but to cut ties, which wouldn’t be that grave.
NFL Provides Important Update On Reports Of Roger Goodell Wanting The Super Bowl To Be Held Outside The United States
Recently, reports said that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell supported the idea of holding the Super Bowl internationally and outside the United States.
“We’ve always traditionally tried to play a Super Bowl in an NFL city — that was always sort of a reward for the cities that have NFL franchises,” Goodell said. “But things change. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if that happens one day.”
Of course, many people disagreed with that idea, but NFL reporter Armando Alguero has shined some light on the chances of this happening.
“Following up on Roger Goodell saying last week an international Super Bowl is something NFL will consider in the future, NFL executive Peter O’Reilly adds context, saying that is something the league is “not focused on in the near term” and it is “not on the front burner,” he wrote on X.

Of course, the NFL is continuously trying to tap into markets that are less accustomed to sports.
Earlier this year, the Packers and Eagles met in Brazil for a Week 1 matchup. Three games are set to occur in London and one in Munich, Germany.
Of course, bringing the biggest game of the year to a new country is a different story and not something that will be decided too quickly.
Roger Goodell Is Also Looking To Expand The Regular Season
Goodell is also considering major changes to the length of the regular season, which would give each team 18 games and two bye weeks.
One major aspect that could keep that from happening is ensuring player safety isn’t jeopardized.
“The key thing for us is looking at making sure we continue to do the things that make our game safer,” Goodell said. “Seventeen games is a long season, so we want to make sure we look at that and make sure that we continue the safety efforts.”
