With the 2024 United States Presidential Election fast approaching, tensions are rising over celebrity endorsements of either Donald Trump in the Republican corner or Kamala Harris in the Democrat corner.
One of the names in America that carries the greatest weight in this regard is Taylor Swift, especially with this being the first presidential election since her incredibly successful and influential Eras Tour.
Swifties defend Taylor Swift’s bold wedding look against media backlash
Whilst the expectation was always that Swift would publicly endorse Harris‘s campaign, it took until Tuesday night for the singer to officially do it.
Travis Kelce‘s inner circle has been publicly supportive of her decision, but the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is yet to actually say anything himself yet.
Partly why there is a vacuum for speculation here is that Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kelce‘s Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, has shown support for Trump‘s campaign.
Swift and Brittany have become friends since the singer started dating Kelce but there may well be strain on their friendship now.
Kelce may need to react
Kelce has not reacted to Swift‘s lengthy social media post explaining her decision, but the three-time Super Bowl winner’s managers, Andre and Aaron Eanes, were among the millions to like the Instagram post.
Childhood friends and trainers of Kelce have also liked the post, along with Kylie Kelce who is married to Travis‘ brother Jason.

“Well, you know the Taylor Swift rumors are interesting to me, because I was told a couple of days ago that Travis Kelce also had reached out to the Harris campaign when it was first announced and said that he wanted to be here on the night that [Kamala] was speaking,” CBS’ Gayle King said during the DNC last month.
It seems that Kelce also backs Harris but he may want to show it publicly to avoid speculation.
