During a conversation between Fox News Channel anchors Bret Baier, Martha MacCallum, and former President Donald Trump on the night of Thursday, August 22, the network, incredibly, cut off the former president as it cut to the beginning of Mr. Greg Gutfeld’s late-night program, “Gutfeld!”. So, to finish the conversation and roast Kamala Harris, Trump called in by calling Gutfeld’s cell phone.

The cut-off of the former Precame as Trump, speaking to the aforementioned FNC hosts, commented on Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention, which had occurred at around the same time as the late in the evening Fox News program.

Trump had announced on Truth Social that he would be calling into the program and would be giving his very honest, and likely harsh, assessment of what Vice President Kamala Harris had to say in her speech. He wrote, “I’ll be doing a call in to Bret Baier and group after her Speech. They’d like to know what I thought of it — I will be very honest in my assessment!”

Then, as Trump spoke, the network prepared to cut away, and Baier and MacCallum told him they had to end the show and move the programming over to “Gutfeld!”. That late-night show then began and Gutfeld joked that the cutting off of the former president wasn’t his fault, saying, “That wasn’t my fault, Donald Trump. He’s still talking by the way!”

Then, a bit after the new program began and Gutfeld joked about what happened, former President Trump called in to chime in. Only he didn’t call into Fox News Channel itself, but rather Gutfeld’s cell phone. Gutfeld, answering, said, “Mr. President, I’m live now, say hello to my audience. So don’t say anything that will get you in trouble!”

Trump told him, responding, “At this point, what difference does it make? We’re doing well, we’re leading in the polls,” Gutfeld then began, saying, “Alright, Mr. President—” but Trump, hilariously, interrupted him and continued with his point about being and doing better than Kamala, citing poll numbers and saying the Democratic Party “basically staged a coup.”

Smiling as Trump sounded off, Gutfeld shrugged and said, “Yeah.” Trump, continuing, predicted that he would do very well in the upcoming election against Kamala, saying, “And, you know, let’s all see how it happens. But I think we’re doing very well.” “Alright, Mr. P, I gotta go!” Gutfeld then told him, wanting to get back to normal programming. Trump, taking it in good stride, told him, “Have a good time!” Gutfeld, hanging up, said, “I’ll see ya!”

Watch that here:

Kamala, during her speech, said, attacking Trump, “Fellow Americans, this election is not only the most important of our lives, it is one of the most important in the life of our nation. In many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man. But the consequences — but the consequences of putting Donald Trump back in the White House are extremely serious.”

Trump responded to Harris’ attacks on Truth Social. He wrote, “She’s done nothing for three and a half years but talk, and that’s what she’s doing tonight, she’s complaining about everything but doing nothing!” Trump wrote in one post. “She should leave the Speech right now, go to Washington, D.C., close the Border, allow fracking in Pennsylvania and other places, and start doing the things she’s complaining about aren’t done!”
