The Ghost Eminem’s “King Mathers” Continues To Haunt Fans

In a surprising turn of events, the hip-hop community is abuzz with news of leaked tracks and information about Eminem’s unreleased 2006 album, tentatively referred to as “King Mathers.” This project, shrouded in mystery for years, has long been a subject of speculation among fans and music enthusiasts.

According to recent leaks, several tracks have surfaced from a failed private buy where the seller backed out of the deal. The leaked content includes stems, an early version of “Survival” (then called “This Is”), and snippets of “OG Discombobulated” (previously titled “Back And Forth”). Additionally, a leaked track-list for what’s presumed to be the “King Mathers” album has emerged, along with file dates for various tracks.

Interestingly, some of these leaked tracks have found their way onto official releases. “Survival” was eventually released on Eminem’s 2013 album “The Marshall Mathers LP 2,” while “Discombobulated” appeared on the deluxe edition of “Music to Be Murdered By” in 2020. This recycling of material suggests that Eminem has been drawing from this unreleased project for years.

One particularly intriguing revelation is about the track “Antichrist,” which reportedly dates back to 2005. This early version is said to be so controversial that, according to the leaker, Eminem does not want anyone to hear it due to its extreme content.

The leaks also shed light on Eminem’s state of mind during this period. An early version of “Careful What You Wish For” features a news reporter asking, “Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?” followed by a fading instrumental. Fans have noted the eerie quality of this ending, considering Eminem’s struggles at the time, and how it contrasts with the more defiant final version released on “Relapse: Refill.”

While the authenticity of some information remains in question – leakers are known to sometimes include false information as a safeguard – these leaks offer a fascinating glimpse into Eminem’s creative process and the evolution of his work over time.

As the hip-hop world digests this new information, fans eagerly await potential future leaks that might further illuminate this lost chapter in Eminem’s career. The ghost of “King Mathers” continues to haunt the rapper’s discography, serving as a testament to his enduring impact and the intense interest in his unreleased work.
