NASAAN has reuploaded a track produced by Eminem, giving fans a bittersweet taste of a collaboration that never fully materialised.
NASAAN, the son of the late Proof, has given fans another chance to hear what could have been a historic collaboration with Eminem. Originally teased back in 2019, the track produced by Eminem was hyped as a potential joint effort between the rap legend and his best friend’s son. NASAAN previewed a snippet on Instagram in 2021, but the entire song never surfaced.
In 2023, NASAAN revealed he had been robbed in Atlanta, losing hard drives containing his music and working files. Among them was “VS. EVERYBODY”, the much-anticipated collaboration with Eminem, including a verse that, according to NASAAN, Eminem had recorded.
This week, NASAAN reuploaded a draft of the song on YouTube, sharing what remains of the once-promising project. While the reuploaded version lacks Eminem’s verse, NASAAN left a note for listeners: “There was supposed to be a really big feature on this song, but unfortunately, it’s gone forever”.
Fans have been left wondering if Eminem still has his recorded verse in the vault. However, it seems unlikely he would release it after the track had made it to somebody else’s hands. Adding to the mystery is some scepticism from fans, fuelled by NASAAN’s previous claims about his relationship with Eminem, which he later admitted were exaggerated.
Whether the full collaboration resurfaces or not, this reupload provides a glimpse into what could have been a powerful connection between Proof’s legacy and Eminem’s mentorship.
