Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides has suggested that Caitlin Clark will be even better following her month-long break.

The WNBA is set to resume this week after pausing for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, with several stars returning home with gold.

Clark was shockingly left off the team, so she got to enjoy some downtime. The way Sides sees it, she will be a greater threat to defenses around the league now that she’s rested.

The Fever will play the Phoenix Mercury on Friday in a matchup pitting Clark against Diana Taurasi. And, speaking ahead of the fixture, Sides pointed out that the point guard hadn’t taken a real break from the court since she started her senior season with Iowa in 2023, although she had to make sure the All-Star rookie was staying off the court.

“The break for Caitlin… We gave them some great opportunities to get enough rest,” she told ‘Locked On Women’s Basketball.’

“Now, she’s also a worker. I was always having to check in and make sure she was getting the rest that she needed. That’s just her mentality, which is why she is who she is… She needed to just get a break. A mental break, a physical break.”

Christie Sides Put The WNBA On Caitlin Clark Notice

Christie Sides added that Caitlin Clark would be a different player coming out of the break as she needed mental and physical withdrawal from the game, something which should give her an edge for the remainder of the season.

“A month of rest for Caitlin Clark is exactly what she needed, and I think you’ll see a difference when we come out on Friday,” she remarked.

Clark’s rookie season has been far from perfect, but she’s still been amazing, averaging 17.1 points and 8.2 assists a game while inching toward the Rookie of the Year Award.

Should Sides be correct in her assessment, the WNBA might not be ready for a rested Caitlin Clark.

VIDEO: Cameras Caught Cowboys Superstar Trevon Diggs Trying To Have Tequila Shots With Raiders Fans Before Game

Dallas Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs had a lighthearted exchange with Las Vegas Raiders fans before Saturday’s preseason game at Allegiant Stadium.

Arash Markazi of The Sporting Tribune posted a video on X/Twitter of Trevon Diggs coming over to talk to Raiders fans at the luxurious Wynn Field Club that spans the north end zone section of Allegiant Stadium.

You can’t quite hear what Diggs is saying to the fans, but according to Markazi, the All-Pro cornerback made a joke about wanting the fans to get him a shot of the rich Don Julio 1942 Tequila:

The Cowboys defeated the Raiders 27-12 to improve to 2-0 in preseason play. Third-stringer Trey Lance saw the most action on offense, completing 15 of 23 pass attempts for 151 yards and one touchdown to go along with a team-leading 34 rushing yards and one score.

After back-to-back Pro Bowl selections, Trevon Diggs unfortunately missed all but two games in 2023 after suffering a season-ending ACL tear. Second-year corner DaRon Bland stepped up in Diggs’ absence, finishing with a league-leading nine interceptions and five pick-sixes, a single-season record.

Though Diggs has been inconsistent in coverage, he has made up for it with his all-world ball-hawking skills. The 2020 second-round pick led the NFL with 11 interceptions in 2021 and totaled 21 pass breakups.

In 2022, Diggs finished with three interceptions and 14 pass breakups to earn his second Pro Bowl selection. He helped Dallas to their first playoff win in four years, though they were ousted by the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.

Through his first four seasons (47 games), Trevon Diggs has 18 interceptions and 52 pass breakups.

Trevon Diggs & Cowboys Open 2024 Season At Cleveland Browns

The Cowboys will be tested early when they travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns in their season opener on Sept. 8. One of the top matchups in that game will be Dallas’ All-Pro cornerback duo of Diggs and Bland vs. the Browns’ top two wideouts in ex-Cowboy Amari Cooper and offseason acquisition Jerry Jeudy.
