However, Tatum was on a roster headed by LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, and eight other NBA stars. With such a lineup, standing out was almost an impossible mission for Tatum.
Criticism of the Celtics star was not long in coming. However, one of his most fervent defenders has been, precisely, Tom Brady.

The two sports stars have known each other for a long time. For press and fans, their relationship is limited to charity events or the occasional celebrity gala. However, their bond is deeper, as Tatum revealed in an interview, saying that Brady texts him regularly.
However, the greatest proof of friendship that Brady has given Tatum was when the SportsCenter account on Instagram published an interview with the basketball player, who lamented his performance at the Olympic Games. “I know I didn’t make a jump shot when I was with Team USA…You never exactly know when you’re gonna get the ball. But that’s part of it,” admitted Tatum.
The post caused a stir not only for Tatum’s statements but for the massive response it generated, including that of the seven-time Super Bowl winner, who decided to put an end to the criticism against Tatum.
“A true professional! A true champion! And a great teammate!” Brady commented on the post, also stating, “We should celebrate people who care more about the team success than the individual success!”

Brady added a different perspective to Tatum’s alleged poor performance in Paris. “There are so many people involved in every organization who don’t always play a ‘starting’ role but play a huge role in the success of the team,” recalled the former New England Patriots quarterback.
Finally, he reiterated his respect for the Celtics forward by saying, “I have more respect for Jayson Tatum now more than ever! 100% now this is what we should be teaching our kids!”

Several memorable moments occurred during the evening, such as the amusing present from the nightclub: a tambourine with their faces from the same night’s picture. Prieto held the unique gift up for Jordan to see, and it caused grins and laughter.
