Under Armour took a cheeky jab at rivals Nike following an ill-advised tweet from the latter that has since been deleted.
The NBA’s Western Conference Finals concluded this week, with the Dallas Mavericks completing a 4-1 series rout of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night.
Nike wasn’t happy with the fact that there won’t be any NBA action until the finals kick off next Thursday and expressed their disappointment with the following tweet.
“And that’s that… a week without hoops smh,” the company posted on Twitter/X.
Of course, such a tweet totally undermines and discredits the WNBA, especially after all the traction they’ve been getting this season, given the additions of stars such as Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.
Fans called out the sportswear giants for belittling a league they sponsor, which also boasts some of its signature athletes, such as Clark, Sabrina Ionescu, and A’ja Wilson.
Under Armour joined in on Friday.
“And that’s that…another week WITH hoops,” they tweeted.
Fans Loved Under Armour’s Jab At Nike
Fans absolutely loved the petty dig.
“And yet another instance of UA stepping it up in 2024,” one wrote. “WE LOVE TO SEE IT.”
“This WNBA season got everybody being spicy,” said another.
“Babe wake up the brands are being passive aggressive to each other,” one joked.
