Jason Kelce, the legendary center who retired after a 13-year Hall of Fame-worthy career this year, doesn’t seem to have grown out of his fondness for the Philadelphia Eagles. And after constantly making an appearance at the team’s camp led to numerous rumors of him returning to the NFL.

While speaking to the Associated Press, the former center addressed the un-retirement rumors swirling around the internet these days. He acknowledged his significant weight loss since retirement as he slimmed from 295 pounds to 275 and intends to reduce it down to 260 pounds, reflecting that it made him unsuitable for the starting job.

They’re not going to call me to come back and play center at 260 pounds, and I’m moving on to the next thing and I’m excited to watch Cam (Jurgens). I really think Cam is going to be tremendous this year. He’s going to really show people how great of a player he is. He was good for us last year at right guard and he’s going to flourish at center.

Jason Kelce said

At present, the seven-time Pro Bowler has no plans of returning to the NFL since he has arthritis and he claimed until medicine for that invents, he doesn’t want to entertain any thought of coming back to the league.

This is all new territory for me. I have even more respect for it now. It's very hard to do something live, reactive of stimulus that just happened and having something clever and meaningful to say.

Jason Kelce said about his new career move

Although this broadcasting move is significant for the former Philly center, it’s not entirely new for him. He previously participated in the broadcasting boot camp “NFL Broadcasting and Media Workshop” last year in 2023. Additionally, during a week off last season, he also appeared on Amazon’s Thursday Night Football.
