Game 3 between the Knicks and the Sixers had a very chippy start, with Sixers star Joel Embiid receiving a flagrant 1 foul for his foul play on Mitchell Robinson. Knicks legend Charles Oakley spoke about it, and his words were unpleasant.
After Embiid’s foul on Robinson, a scuffle broke out, with players like Donte DiVincenzo and OG Anunoby getting in the face of the Sixers star. They were met with an aggravating response as Joel responded, “What are you going to do?” The authorities broke up the altercation, but Charles Oakley voiced his opinions.
“I probably would have smacked him,” said Oakley to Barbara Barker from Newsday. “You cannot let him send that kind of message. If he had done something like that, he would not have gotten away with it. David Robinson, when he played, knew what he could get away with. They pick a fight they think they are going to win.”
Oakley pointed out that if Joel Embiid had done this play in Oakley’s era, he would have smacked him. He pointed out that David Robinson would have bullied Embiid for the entire match if he had pulled off such an antic against him.

Victor Wembanyama’s France team faced a tough challenge in the Paris Olympics final by falling short against Team USA with a close 98-87 loss. The defeat was a hard pill to swallow, especially for Wembanyama. He was visibly emotional after the game and shed tears over missing out on a gold medal.
Despite the heartbreak, Wembanyama found a silver lining in the experience. The young star had the opportunity to interact with their childhood idol, Kevin Durant. During a recent appearance on a French television station with Gabby Williams, Wembanyama shared the conversation he had with Durant after the game.

The San Antonio Spurs star’s performance was a bright spot for France, especially in the gold medal game. He scored 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting in just 30 minutes of play.
