The Challenge: Battle of the Eras premiered on Wednesday, and according to Averey, 33, who’s part of the 40-person cast, a lot went down that viewers have yet to see.

Veterans and newer contestants of the competition series gathered in Vietnam for the show’s milestone Season 40, and as the premiere showed, the challenges have reached higher levels than ever before.
Averey spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about her experience and the harsh conditions, which she said was a challenge in itself after only recently returning to the reality TV scene.
The Arizona native previously competed in the show’s Battle of the Exes II and Rivals III before joining All Stars 4 last year after an eight-year hiatus.
With the largest cast in the franchise’s history this season, the players are divided into groups of four “Eras,” with the more seasoned contestants in Era One and the fresher meat in Era Four.
Averey falls somewhat in the middle in Era Three, giving her a clear look at things from both ends of the roster, during and outside game time.
WHAT TO EXPECT
“I think this season is going to be amazing, especially with Battle of the Eras. You’re definitely going to get to know, you know, why we all belong in each Era; from Era One to Era Four, you’re definitely going to see the personality shifts of the game and how you do the game that is a big contender, you know?” Averey told The U.S Sun.
“I feel like Era One is very upfront, whereas Era Four is more kind of going through the grass. So it’s going to be a really interesting season.
“There’s definitely going to be blowouts. There’s definitely upsets, there’s definitely going to be hookups and drama,” the TV star teased.
Averey also hinted that the dynamic between the cast members with so many different personalities and techniques posed challenges when it came to working together.
The Challenge’s Averey Tressler reveals ‘intense’ competition show’s ‘harsh conditions’ while filming in Vietnam
“The season is very intense. Always twists and turns. It’s going to be a wild ride, for sure. I think it’s something that no one’s ever expected to see before in the challenge,” The MTV veteran revealed.
“I think it’s really cool to see everybody like what they’ve been doing now and how they actually play. It was really interesting seeing Era Four because they are more of the sneakier players, I would say, like more, you know, conniving, because they’re like, more Big Brother and Survivor stars.”
Averey continued about her costars, “So that was an interesting element, too, to be put in there. So you’ll see that some contention going on with Era four, a lot like how people don’t like their gameplay or don’t respect their gameplay, but it’s gonna be fun.”
The TV personality also admitted she struggled to create alliances since she was less seasoned than other competitors but leaned on pals Derek Chavez and Ryan Kehoe from Eras Two for support.

Fans were first introduced to Averey when she starred in The Real World: Portland in 2013.
She was famously discovered by MTV while working at a Hooters restaurant, and her career has since blossomed, as she has become the official Hooters Girl.
Averey is preparing for another competition – the Miss Hooters International Pageant 2024- on August 22 at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth.
It will be Averey’s first time participating in a regional pageant, representing South Carolina.
PAGEANT QUEEN
This year is also the first since 2021 that the pageant has been open to the general public, allowing fans to watch the 30 contestants compete for the title and a $30,000 cash prize.
As for her role on The Challenge, Averey adores being known for her work with Hooters and how her passions have collided.
“That’s one thing that I do love about the show and Hooters is that both worlds complement each other very well,” Averey gushed.
The Challenge: Battle of the Eras airs on Wednesdays on MTV at 8 pm Eastern and streams the next day on Paramount Plus.
