Team USA concluded their Paris Olympics journey with a gold medal, capping off a successful run with their star-studded roster. American sprinter Noah Lyles also made headlines by winning gold, but his recent trash talk, particularly in discussions involving NBA players like Anthony Edwards, has sparked controversy.
Their ongoing trash-talking has caught the eye of former NBA star Carmelo Anthony. On the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast, Melo expressed frustration with the public feuding between Edwards and Lyles.
“The reason why we call ourselves world champs over here, to what I said earlier, this is our game. The world comes to us to get the game. So, yes, we are the world champs. Semantics, I understand,” Melo said.
The former NBA star pointed at the desire for unity. He claimed that athletes should address other issues rather than focusing on criticisms of the NBA.
“But my thing is, why do you keep shooting at the NBA? If you want to shoot, shoot at the fact that y’all ain’t got no league for your own. Shoot at why they ain’t pour money into that sport… I’d rather you be like, ‘Yo, we need more attention on U.S. track and field association,’ whatever it is,” he added.
Carmelo Anthony Shares His Support For Noah Lyles While Offering Some Advice
In the later part of his take on Noah Lyles, Carmelo Anthony made it clear that he’s not against Noah Lyles. Actually Melo has a lot of respect and support for the gold medalist. However, he did offer some candid advice to the Olympic champion.
“I want to support you, I’m gonna continue to support you, we gonna support you. But I wouldn’t be your big homie if I ain’t give you that knowledge. Leave them basketball n**as alone. Basketball getting into whole different kind of way,” Anthony said.
“We want to support track and field to get to that, so let us know, let me know personally what I can do to help that because I’m always trying to figure out” Anthony added.
At last, Melo also warned Lyles against burning bridges, which can be difficult to rebuild. It will remain to be seen if Lyles regards Melo’s advice.

The father of Travis Kelce is piping hot mad. He took to Facebook to post a Daily Mail article spotlighting a lyric on Kanye West’s long-awaited Vultures 2 album with Ty Dolla $ign that mentions Taylor Swift.
Kanye featured a lyrical reference to Taylor Swift’s romance with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce,” Lil Wayne raps on the track “Lifestyle (Demo).”
“Mental illness on full display,” Ed wrote in response.
Honestly, those lyrics are quite tame to what we have heard in the past.
