Ex-Iowa Hawkeyes guard Gabbie Marshall celebrated a personal milestone, and her college teammates Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin shared their support. Marshall and her boyfriend, Spencer Touro, appear to have celebrated their second anniversary based on Marshall’s Instagram post on Monday.
She shared a series of photos with Touro in it. She also captioned it by saying that she was celebrating two years with her best friend. At the time of writing, the post has garnered over 12,000 likes and numerous comments, two of which came from Clark and Martin.
Clark commented the following under Marshall’s post:
“So cute,” Clark commented before punctuating it with a heart emoji.

In those four years, Martin averaged 8.0 points per game. Her best scoring output was during her final year when she averaged 13.1 ppg. Marshall averaged 6.6 ppg with a career-high of 9.1 per game during her sophomore year. She was also known as a ball hawk, averaging 1.4 steals in college.
Meanwhile, Clark averaged 28.4 ppg and 8.2 assists per game. She broke and set numerous records throughout her college career before entering the WNBA as the number-one overall pick for the 2024 season.
Where are Caitlin Clark’s ex-teammates Marshall and Martin playing now?
Caitlin Clark’s meteoric rise into stardom is difficult to ignore. She set numerous records, which led to her becoming the Rookie of the Year in 2024. While the eyes of the media have been glued on her, her ex-Iowa teammates haven’t received similar attention.
For Marshall, she seemed to have chosen the path that allowed her to fly under the radar. After a five-year career with Iowa, she decided to forego the WNBA draft and retire from basketball. She announced her retirement through an Instagram post. She is reportedly pursuing a master’s degree.
Meanwhile, Martin entered the WNBA via the 2024 Draft with Caitlin Clark. Martin was selected with the sixth pick of the second round (18th overall) by the Las Vegas Aces. In her rookie year, Martin played in 34 games, averaging 2.6 points and 1.6 rebounds.
On Friday, the WNBA’s latest franchise, the Golden State Valkyries, held its expansion draft. Martin was one of the players selected to join the Valkyries. Aside from joining the Valkyries, Martin will also be playing in the inaugural season of “Unrivaled.” She will be a part of the Laces along with Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride, Alyssa Thomas, and Stefanie Dolson.
