Caitlin Clark‘s exceptional debut season in the WNBA sees her a shoo-in to win the 2024 Rookie of the Year Award but could things get even more crazy for the 22-year-old, as Jake Paul calls for her to be the MVP?

Clark, of the Indiana Fever, has posted an average of 18.4 points per game, 8.3 assists per game and 5.7 rebounds per game in her first season as a professional guard and most recently she shot for 31 points and 12 assists against the Chicago Sky.

Her form has helped transform the Fever from finishing 2023 rooted last in the Eastern Conference to .500 and 10 games back from the lead of the division in a sensational turnaround at the Gainbridge FieldHouse.

The young woman’s competition for Rookie of the Year appeared to only be Angel Reese but she’s now moving beyond any discussion of her claim to the title but Jake Paul has gone on step further and tipped her to become WNBA MVP.

“Time to start talking about Caitlin Clark as an MVP candidate,” Paul posted to X.com, formerly Twitter with the controversial influencer and professional boxer kicking up quite the debate online about whether Clark should win the title.

One user posted, “If we’re talking most valuable player, by definition of valuable, She most certainly exceeds that by a long shot and is the actual most valuable player.”

A second commented, “Only if she survives the flagrant brutal fouls.”

However, another said, “Are you oblivious to what Aja has been doing all season?”

And a fourth wrote, “She’s in the conversation and probably top 3 but aja is winning it.”

A’ja Wilson vs Caitlin Clark

Whilst Clark needs no introduction after dominating the headlines through most of 2024 following a record-breaking final season in the NCAA, the Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson has been very impressive too.

Wilson is averaging 27 points per game, 11.8 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game from the center position, with the WNBA champion only failing to shoot over 20 points twice in 2024 including an astonishing 42 points against the Dallas Wings.

As a result, the Aces are second in the Western Conference with a .613 record and 19 wins as they chase down the Minnesota Lynx by 3.5 games and bid to stay ahead of the Seattle Storm who have the same record.
