The rookie struggled from the field against the Los Angeles Sparks
Angel Reese
Angel Reese turned heads after her pregame outfit went viral ahead of Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Unfortunately for the Chicago Sky star, her play on the court didn’t match up, which resulted in plenty of criticism from fans online.
Reese arrived at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles donning an all-black outfit as she posed for photographers.
This earned the 22-year-old plenty of praise, with some fans stating she stole the show. However, her 4-for-13 from the field shooting performance didn’t earn the same praise.
While Reese finished the game with 14 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and one block, some fans wondered whether the rookie was focused on her fashion choices rather than the court.
Fans take aim at Reese after poor performance
“Angel Reese did a whole photo shoot before the game just to come out and go 4/13,” wrote one fan on X.
Another added, “And WNBA 2k gave her a 90.”
A third wrote: “All 8 shots were from 2 possessions too.”
It isn’t the first time Reese has struggled from the field. While she set the WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles this season, she is currently shooting just 39.7 percent from the field.
Nevertheless, plenty of fans stood up for Reese, with one writing: “She had a 14 point double double and locked up the sparks best player. Held them to 7 pts. Nice one tho buddy.”

Another wrote: “More like 14 points on 8/13 and 6FTs all while getting her 2nd consecutive double double since the break.”
The most important stat for Reese and the Sky on Saturday was the win, as it means they remain ahead of the Atlanta Dream for the eighth an final playoff spot.
