Flag Football quarterback Darrell Doucette has sparked a massive debate on social media after suggesting he would be a better option for the 2028 Olympics than Patrick Mahomes.

Doucette has been trending for his comments about the upcoming games, with flag football set to debut in Los Angeles in four years’ time, having claimed that NFL stars won’t simply be handed spots.

He doubled down by declaring he’s a better player than Mahomes.

“At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game,” he told TMZ Sports. “I know he’s right now the best in the league, I know he’s more accurate, I know he has all these intangibles, but when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.”

Mahomes reacted with a popular humorous 50 Cent GIF, refusing to enter the debate himself.

But Doucette’s highlights have surfaced online since the claims went viral, and now fans are arguing over whether he might actually be as good or even better than the three-time Super Bowl winner.

Darrell Doucette Has Many Fans On His Side

Darrell Doucette had plenty of fans on social media defending his argument after seeing him throw the football.

“This is impressive. On a completely unrelated note, I wonder what all these guys’ day jobs are,” one wrote.

“better than lamar jackson,” another suggested.

“Feel like we need to see more of this on TV!” said another.

“yeah the dude is actually cold 😮‍💨,” one fan admitted.

“A short king finally found a way to play QB but is now threatened by the 6’1”+ NFL stars to take his job, honestly feel for the guy,” a comment read.

“Would the Chiefs be better off with Darrell Doucette at QB?” Barstool Sports asked.

“Those are some dimes though,” someone replied.

“I’ll bet he can throw a football over them mountains,” said another user.

Of course, there will be qualifying events when the Olympics come around, so we’ll see what happens then.

In any case, 2028 is still very far off.
