Tyreek Hill sends Chiefs and NFL fans into a frenzy with a veiled message for Patrick Mahomes

There’s only been one Patrick Mahomes in the NFL, and he is building a legacy that could be unmatched when he decides to hang up his cleats. At just 28 years old, Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs to four Super Bowl appearances and three titles, while claiming the NFL MVP award twice and Super Bowl MVP honors in each of the Chiefs‘ victories.

But a loaded rookie draft class in 2024 has its eyes on the crown. The top three picks in April’s draft were all quarterbacks, and superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill — one of Mahomes’ former teammates in Kansas City — believes one of those signal-callers could end up being Mahomes 2.0 in the coming years.

Is Caleb Williams the next Mahomes?

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams won the Heisman Trophy for the USC Trojans in 2022 and was the #1 overall pick in the 2024 draftWilliams has yet to take an official NFL snap, but his energetic playing style has created genuine optimism in Chicago for the first time in a long time.

The colorful Williams has excited fellow NFL players already, including Hill — who took to X/Twitter on Saturday and made it clear how he feels about the Bears rookie, with fans in the replies seeming to agree with the analysis from “Cheetah.”

Williams helped the Bears polish off a perfect preseason with a 27-3 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday, demonstrating athleticism and pocket awareness that makes fans drool. He ran for Chicago’s opening touchdown late in the second quarter of the eventual win, and he completed six of his 13 passes for 75 yards as well.

Only time will tell as to whether Williams enjoys anywhere near the same success as Mahomes, or whether he can foster the kind of winning atmosphere that Mahomes has fostered in Kansas City. But one thing is for sure — the kid is entering the NFL with a heap of expectations on his plate before he has even played an official down.
