Robert Griffin III is a free agent in more ways than one.

According to The Athletic‘s Andrew Marchand, ESPN fired football analyst and commentator Robert Griffin III on Thursday.

Griffin had two years remaining in his contract, according to the report.

It wasn’t too long ago when Robertwhwasn’tert Griffin III was viewed as a rising star, but things would change drastically in 2024.

The 34-year-old would find out that former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce was taking his spot as he was announced as the newest Monday Night Countdown cast member.

Griffin still had duties to call games and perform other studio tasks next season, but something clearly changed. The Worldwide Leader in Sports decided to go another route and fire him altogether.

Robert Griffin III Appears To Be The Latest In The Release of Talented Individuals On ESPN

Robert Griffin III had been part of ESPN’s Monday night coverage for two years, bu the Worldwide Leader in Sports decided to fire him this week and end his tenure.

This just may be yet another round of layoffs that has been happening for years.

Just last year, around 20 of ESPN’s top on-air presenters found out today that they would no longer be working for the network.

That news came despite Disney’s financials revealing a surprisingly profitable and powerful ESPN.

For Griffin, he just might find his way on Fox Sports fairly soon.

Robert Griffin III has a ton of confidence in one AFC Team to go all the way this year.

The former NFL quarterback joined “Get Up” and detailed how Aaron Rodgers’ health is a key priority for the New York Jets landing a spot in the Super Bowl.

RG3 thinks if Rodgers can play like a top-10 quarterback, then the Jets will win the Super Bowl.

“If Aaron Rodgers plays like a top-10 quarterback like the execs have him ranked, and we’ve known him to be – an off year for Aaron Rodgers is a career year for most quarterbacks,” Griffin III said. “If he plays like a top-10 quarterback, I think the Jets win the Super Bowl.”

Fans took to the comment section and blasted Robert Griffin III:

Aaron Rodgers is coming off a season where the New York Jets quarterback suffered a torn left Achilles in his first game against the Buffalo Bills.

For New York Jets fans, it was a feeling of sadness as the trade for him had dreams of a deep playoff run.

Just recently, Rodgers says he has “felt good all spring” while recovering from the season-ending Achilles injury he suffered last September.

“My Achilles feels good,” Rodgers told NBC Sports at the 2024 American Century Championship in Stateline, Nevada. “I felt really good at the end of last year. Then there’s always that plateau part. It’s just about getting back into it.

“I felt good all spring, had a nice OTAs, had a beautiful trip to Egypt, and this is like the last marker. Summer’s over on Sunday.”

If all goes well, RGIII’s prediction just might come true.

Robert Griffin III Accuses Angel Reese of ‘Stat-Padding’

Robert Griffin III has been getting criticized for his hot takes lately, and it started with what he said about Angel Reese’s double-double streak, which was snapped against the New York Liberty.

RG3 celebrated this streak getting snapped after the game, claiming Reese was trying to stat pad.

“Angel Reese is the WNBA record holder for most consecutive double-doubles with 15, and that streak came to an end today,” Griffin wrote on X.

“Down 14 with under 20 secs left in the game, she needed 2 points to keep the streak rolling, and the New York Liberty weren’t having it.

“Anyone who tells you this sequence isn’t an attempt to stat pad, can’t be trusted. Reese isn’t the first to stat pad at the end of games or chase records. We have seen it in the NBA and NFL.

“Players care, fans care, coaches care, and their teammates care about these milestones. It’s an impressive record regardless.

“Good on the Liberty for not just letting her keep it going. Earned not given is something we can all respect.”

During that game, Reese shot 3 for 13 from the floor in the game against the Liberty.
