Dave Portnoy has shown he can hold a grudge against anybody. In fact, when former ESPN president John Skipper stepped away seven years ago, he popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate the two’s long-standing feud ending.

That’s why when ESPN fired Ponder, many thought Portnoy would react similarly after he blamed her for getting “Barstool Van Talk” kicked off the network after just one episode.

However, he offered a different response in a video posted on X.

Everyone’s like, ‘Prez, where’s the Sam Ponder bottle?’” Portnoy said. “No Sam Ponder bottle, can you believe that? Listen, I took the first shot at Sam Ponder. Was it joking? Yeah. Do I think she and ESPN overreacted? I know so. But I’m fair. And I’ve said this about Ponder, buried the axe, buried the hatchet. I have no champagne bottle for her.”

Sam Ponder, no grudge,” he continued. “I said some things, she held onto them, she played her card, I have no grudge with that. It’s when people come out of left field and start fights with me, and they come at me first. Ponder is not one of them. So, good luck to her in her next step.”

Whatever problems existed between Portnoy and Ponder in the past have been settled between the two.

Dave Portnoy Claims Sam Ponder “Ambushed” Him At A Restaurant

Part of the reason he and Ponder may be on good terms is because of the way Ponder chose to handle their disagreement in person.

Also Sam Ponder once ambushed me at a restaurant and got right in my face,” Portnoy wrote in a tweet. “We argued for an hour. Gained a ton of respect from me as opposed to people who hide in the shadows.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is well known for placing massive bets on sports.

He was back at it again this week.

Portnoy placed a $200,000 bet on the Philadelphia Phillies to win the 2024 World Series. They have +600 odds to win it all based on DraftKings sportsbook.

If the Phillies do the unthinkable, Dave Portnoy could win nearly $1.5 million.

As of right now, the Philadelphia Phillies have the best record in all of baseball as the halfway mark of the season approaches, sitting at 52-26.

They have an incredible eight-game lead over last year’s regular-season leaders, the Atlanta Braves. Everybody else in the National League East is under .500.

As of Monday afternoon, no other team has 50 wins in the National League. Only two others in the American League currently have 50+ victories.

Things are looking really good for Dave Portnoy right now.

However, as we know, things can change really quickly in Major League baseball as injuries can change the direction of a team or a team comes out of nowhere to win it all.

Dave Portnoy Wins Huge Bet During Travelers Championship

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy placed a $180,000 wager on Scottie Scheffler to win the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn.

Despite having to survive a playoff and a wave of protesters at the 18th green at TPC River Highlands, Scottie Scheffler put his brutal week at Pinehurst No. 2 behind him by grabbing a much-needed victory.

With his win, Portnoy pocketed $504,000, per The NY Post.

Just on Scottie alone, Portnoy has won upwards of 1.3 million after a $300,000 bet on him to win the Masters a few months back.
