NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is catching heat online after breaking his silence on the recent allegations made against Roc Nation founder Jay-Z.

The hip-hop mogul has been added to a lawsuit in which a certain Jane Doe is alleging that he raped her along with Diddy at a party in 2000 while she was only 13.

Jay-Z rebuffed the accusation with a robust statement daring the alleged victim’s lawyer to file a criminal complaint.

Given Roc Nation’s deal with the NFL—the entertainment company has been taking charge of the Super Bowl halftime since 2020—Goodell was expected to comment on the matter. He did so on Wednesday, claiming that the league is fully aware of the civil lawsuit, but the relationship between them and Jay-Z remains intact.

“We are aware of the civil litigation and Jay Z’s strong response,” he said, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “The relationship is not changing.”

Fans Are Really Unhappy With Roger Goodell’s Reaction To The Allegations Made Against The Rapper

While it appears 50 Cent has his answer after wondering whether the Super Bowl will still happen in 2025, fans aren’t all that happy with it.

“Creepy,” someone wrote in the comments.

“Gross,” another echoed.

“This will be an extremely bad look for the NFL if these allegations are proven true,” someone predicted.

“goodell’s like “we’re aware, but jay-z’s still gonna make money off our halftime shows, so who cares?”,” another shared.

“Ummm read the room Roger,” a fan advised.

“Probably because they have photos of Roger at the Diddy parties😂,” one laughed.

“NFL’s got 99 problems but Jay-Z ain’t one,” a user joked.

“Wow!!  Just wait for those other allegations to hit and he’ll be singing a different tune,” someone else claimed.

To be fair, accusations aren’t enough to make someone guilty. If the allegations are proven to be true, Goodell would have no choice but to cut ties, which wouldn’t be that grave.
