Taylor Swift makes telling Brittany Mahomes decision after Donald Trump controversy

Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes have been close friends over the past few years, as the two have been spotted at a number of events together. But following Mahomes’ support of Donald Trump, Swift appeared to sit away from her at an NFL game

Pop sensation Taylor Swift was spotted seemingly swerving Brittany Mahomes in a private suite during the 2024 NFL season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens.

Last season, Swift and Mahomes were often seen sitting together in the same suite, cheering on their respective partners, Chiefs’ star tight end Travis Kelce and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Whenever the Chiefs scored, the pair were frequently caught on camera celebrating and hugging each other.

Given their shared support for the Chiefs, it was inevitable that Swift and Mahomes would strike up a friendship. Away from the games, they were seen partying in New York and attending other events across the country, growing closer as friends.

However, photos from the opening game of the NFL season showed Swift in the private suite without Brittany. She was seen sitting next to Kelce’s father, Ed, with no sign of Brittany in the nearby seats.

Brittany Mahomes was indeed at the game, as she posted on her Instagram stories from a private suite. Recently, she faced criticism after it appeared that the 29-year-old had liked an Instagram post from former president Donald Trump detailing his policy positions.

The controversial post outlined the Trump administration’s approach to a litany of divisive topics including halting “the migrant invasion,” combating a so-called “migrant crime epidemic,”, and barring men from women’s sports, amongst a host of other issues. At the core of his campaign lies “Project 2025,” a controversial blueprint aimed at overhauling the US federal government to centralise power in Trump’s hands if he secures victory in the 2024 presidential race.

When Brittany Mahomes endorsed the contentious post, it spurred a backlash on social media with critics blasting her apparent support for Trump. Addressing her detractors head-on, Mahomes ended her silence with a sharp retort on her social handles.

“I mean honestly…” she began, segueing into a shared statement that read: “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

Despite the uproar, the ex-President lavished praise on Mahomes through his platform Truth Social for backing him up, penning a heartfelt message of appreciation and solidarity.

“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” Trump expressed on social media.

“With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless “leaders,” it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM. What a great couple – See you both at the Super Bowl!”.
