Deion Sanders Shares His Interesting Take On Bill Belichick Making The Shocking Transition To College Football
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has made his feelings clear on Bill Belichick’s transition to college football following the former Patriots HC taking over at North Carolina.
The 72-year-old was approaching Don Shula’s all-time wins record and had made little secret of his desire to surpass him. However, he is set to take on his first college job as the head coach of the ACC side, with UNC signing him to a reported five-year deal worth $50 million.
Sanders, who just completed his second season with the Buffaloes, congratulated coach Bill on the move.
“Coach Bill Belichick is a coach’s Coach to All us Coaches along with my man Coach Saban!” he wrote on Thursday morning. “They’re game changers and they know how to move people forward. I know this is a great thing for College Football & for North Carolina. God bless u Coach. If you’re happy, I am 2!”

Sanders will lead CU to the Alamo Bowl after going 9-3 this year following a rough start to life in Boulder, having finished 4-8 last season. He hopes to coach the Buffs to their first bowl win in 20 years after overseeing their best campaign since 2016.
Belichick, meanwhile, is set to take over a program that went 6-6 in 2024.
There were doubts that he had a serious shot at landing another job in the NFL. ESPN’s Sam Wickersham reported that the veteran coach had “grown tired of the stupidness in the NFL” and was “disgusted” at owners’ attitudes toward him.
The reporter cited a source claiming Belichick was of the view that he could be the biggest coach in college football and “the greatest coach in the ACC.”
Of course, Sanders would beg to differ on that first point.
