NIKKI BELLA insisted she still loves former flame John Cena – and regrets how “one-sided” their split appeared.
The WWE stars split in 2018 ending their six year relationship.
WWE star Nikki Bella split with fiancee John Cena in 2018.
They got engaged in 2017 but their split was highly documented on the reality TV show Total Divas.
She said: “The one thing I really regret about showcasing the breakup is that no one got to hear [John’s] voice, and it just seemed so one-sided.
“I felt like that wasn’t fair to him because he was on this journey with us from the beginning.
“What people don’t realise is that John never took one paycheck from Total Bellas.
“It was beautiful – he was fully there to support me. I’ll never forget his support and his love.
“That’s what made me sad — I don’t want to say it became the Nikki show, but in a way it did because you didn’t get to see John anymore.
“My family loves John. I love John, he’s such an amazing person.
“The timing was off. But I love my family for that – they have never once been pro Nicole in this, and that is what has helped me grow. I didn’t have my family coddling me.”
In June Bella revealed her relief after doctors confirmed the lump they had discovered was benign, while she also confirmed her retirement.
The 36-year-old shocked her legion of supporters by announcing that the Bellas would not be making an attempt to capture WWE Women’s Tag-Team titles due to her medical issues.
Bella is now with dancer Artem Chigvintsev and admitted Cena did not have his side of their separation shown fairly enough.
