A new study published in the JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery journal has found that when measured from the lip up, the angle of the upturn of the nose is found as most attractive by both men and women at 106 degrees. The famous women who fit the bill: Kate Middleton, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Beckinsale, and Jessica Biel.

For the study, researchers had 4,000 men and women look at digital portraits of women (yes, only women) to compare noses with slightly different angles. The findings? That between 104 and 108 degrees was the sweet spot, so to speak. Now, it’s important to keep in mind that this study was put together by plastic surgeons, and we’re only talking about noses themselves.

Personally, me and my Roman nose would like to think there’s a little more of a window here in terms of attractiveness in the real world. But the Daily Mail has some examples that show you the angles if you’re curious to see what all this degree talk is about. Or you can check out the study itself here.
