The Trump campaign recently released another scathing ad targeting Vice President Kamala Harris over her administration’s record on the economy.  The Republican Presidential candidate’s team criticized the Biden-Harris economic agenda, often referred to as “Bidenomics,” as millions of Americans have suffered from the impact of historically high levels of inflation that have run rampant over the past several years.

Under President Biden and Vice President Harris, the cost of basic necessities such as housing, energy, and groceries has skyrocketed, leaving Americans struggling to make ends meet. Many have blamed the current administration’s policies for exacerbating inflation, with intiatives like unnecessary fiscal stimulus and hostility toward the fossil fuel industry.

The anti-Harris ad stated:

TRUMP: “I’m Donald J. Trump, and I approve this message.”

NEWS CLIP #1: “The alarming spike in inflation soaring to its highest level in nearly 40 years.”

HARRIS: “That is called Bidenomics.”

NEWS CLIP #2: “Gas prices rose again today, reaching a new all-time high.”

ANA KASPARIAN: “We’re still dealing with inflation, and we’ve got super high interest rates at the same time.”

HARRIS: “Bidenomics is working.”

NEWS CLIP #3: “Two thirds of Americans are just struggling to make ends meet.”

NEWS CLIP #4: “And this comes after Friday’s jobs report showing a spike in unemployment.”

HARRIS: “And we are very proud of Bidenomics.”

Former President Trump also called out Harris’ recent proposal for price controls on groceries, labeling the stance as “full-communist.”  He said at a recent rally, “Kamala went full-communist. She went full-communist.  She wants to destroy our country. After causing catastrophic inflation, comrade Kamala announced that she wants to institute socialist price controls. You saw that, never worked before. Never ever worked. This is the Maduro plan, Venezuela, Maduro plan of the old Soviet Union. They tried it. How did the Soviet Union work out? It became Russia.”

The Republican candidate continued, “It will cause rationing, hunger, and skyrocketing prices, just like their Inflation Reduction Act caused one of the great scams of all time,” he explained. “They got it approved with a beautiful name, Inflation Reduction, because inflation under their system has been so bad, it’s gone up much more than 50%, you know they say 30%, 40%, 50% … people are being devastated. They’re being devastated, but it’s gone way up, way up.”

In a separate statement, Trump further condemned the “communist price controls,” pointing out that central planning has historically failed. “Now Kamala is reportedly proposing communist price controls, she wants price controls,” the former president said. “And if they worked, I’d go along with it, too, but they don’t work. They exactly have the exact opposite impact and effect and it leads to food shortages, rationing, hunger, dramatically more inflation.”

Trump also compared Harris to the socialist Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. “She’s running on the Maduro plan. we call it the Maduro plan, like something straight out of Venezuela or the Soviet Union. This announcement is an admission that her economic policies have totally failed, and caused really a catastrophe for our country and beyond that, a catastrophe in the world,” he said.
