Novak Djokovic has been spotted soaking up some sun, as he enjoyed a beach day with friends after withdrawing from the Miami Open due to scheduling conflicts, just a week after his shock loss at Indian Wells.
The 36-year-old, World No. 1 proved that age is just number while appearing shirtless at Miami Beach on Monday, as he showed off his toned physique when not wearing a grey undershirt over a navy-blue swimsuit.
He also wore a silver chain and some posh white sunglasses to complete his look, while also making sure he doesn’t get sunburnt.
Djokovic – the record holder for the most Grand Slam titles in the history of men’s singles (24) – even had time to pose for a few snaps with fans, as the tennis star was asked by a random if he could take a picture with him on his way off the white sand.
The right-handed Serbian’s wife and high school sweetheart, Jelena, was nowhere to be seen, however, along with their son and daughter.
Djokovic’s latest public appearance comes after his shock withdraw from the Miami Open was announced on Saturday.
He told fans he wouldn’t play in Florida through his social media accounts following his 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 defeat to unheralded Luca Nardi on Monday in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells).
‘At this stage of my career, I’m balancing my private and professional schedule. I’m sorry that I won’t experience some of the best and most passionate fans in the world,’ Djokovic wrote.
