Earlier this month, Kanye West has reportedly been formally banned from performing in Brazil.
The U.S. Sun reports that Ye wanted to put on a free concert in Rio De Janiero’s Copacabana beach, but local authorities turned him down because of his antisemitic remarks and “controversial” image.
Ye’s requests to perform at Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium and Maracena Stadium were also rejected.
The news comes shortly after he and Ty Dolla $ign attended the first night of Rolling Loud California last week and were accused of swindling promoters, because they played Vultures 1 songs without performing them.
Another reason why the rapper was banned from performing in Brazil was due to his controversial statements about Adolf Hitler and Jesus.
“There’s absolutely no chance the rapper is not permitted to perform in Brazil,” a source told The Sun.
“Nobody wants to be linked with him and his recent controversies,” added an insider.
The sources claim that Ye’s recent online rant about Jesus and Hitler means that a lot of governments are hesitant to align themselves with him or risk him having an offensive rant onstage in their countries.
“No local government or people that manage the stadiums and the venues for concerts or cultural events want to have Kanye come to their city. It’s just too much to handle. The answer will always be no,” said the source.
