The Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark is regularly celebrating a highly successful 2024 year for herself so far, but the latest moment was about someone else as she praised her boyfriend on his birthday with a beautiful message between the lovebirds.
The 22-year-old star of the WNBA is in a relationship with Connor McCaffrey since around April 2023 when they appeared in the public eye together whilst she was with the Iowa Hawkeyes and over a year later, their commitment remains true.
He’s been there through her highs such as shattering the NCAA’s points record or being drafted as the first pick in the WNBA and also her lows considering the things her rivals say about her such as implicating her in a racism storm.
So, she took the chance to give something back to her man, who also played college basketball for years, and thanked him for his love before offering him a cheeky challenge to try and beat her on the court.
“Happy Birthday Con!,” Clark posted to Instagram. “Celebrating you is easy 🙂
“Thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me 😉 Love you always.”
However, McCaffrey, not keen to be outdone, fired back by saying, “And I’ll keep letting you win those shooting contests!!!!!”
Who do the Indiana Fever play next?
The Indiana Fever are next in action at the Target Center in Minnesota as they take on the Lynx in their latest WNBA match on Sunday, July 14. The Fever are looking to claim their second win in a row and their fourth from their last eight.
The game is scheduled for a 16:00 ET/13:00 PT start and will bid to see Clark continue her fine form by spearing them on. In the win against the Phoenix Mercury, she shot 20 points, 13 assists and six rebounds to bring her average up to 16.8 points per game, 7.8 assists per game and 5.9 rebounds per game in her rookie season.
“Lucky He’s Not in Prison for Theft…”- Stephen A. Smith Takes Aim at Brooklyn Nets’ Ben Simmons for Lackluster Performance

Stephen A. Smith, the renowned NBA analyst, is well-known for calling a spade a spade. Throughout his career, he has shared his critical views on many players, and this time, the one who came on his radar was the Brooklyn Nets’ Ben Simmons.
Recently, a video of the 3-time All-Star surfaced on the internet showing his workout session. This didn’t go well with Smith, who harshly discussed it on the ‘OGs’ podcast. Lashing out at Simmons, Smith said, “The only injury that I’ve ever questioned is that damn Ben Simmons. He’s lucky he’s not in prison for theft… I’m sure of all the places he could really get focused and zero in on his basketball prowess.”
The veteran clarified that he is not questioning Simmons’ injury but pointing out how the Australian missed games even before that. To Smith, this indicated that the athlete didn’t love the sport.
Smith also touched on Simmons’ mental health issues, which the former claimed to be supportive of. However, appearing for only 57 games in two seasons and dropping 6.7 points per night was not something one expected from the first-round pick.
