Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders got into a testy exchange with two reporters during media day on Friday, his 57th birthday no less.
Deion Sanders is entering his second season as the Buffs’ head coach following a successful three-year tenure at Jackson State. Much to Prime Time’s joy, Colorado has been a media darling since his arrival, even though they went 4-8 last year.
Sanders has had a rocky relationship with the media during his tenure in Colorado, and that was again on display today.
First, Sanders shut down Eric Christensen of CBS Colorado once he revealed his outlet. When Christensen stated that he was with Denver and not a national reporter, Sanders still declined to answer.
“They know what they did…you are who you are,” Sanders said, emphasizing that he still respects Christensen. “CBS is CBS.”

The second testy exchange began when Deion Sanders refused to answer a question from Sean Keeler of The Denver Post. For those unaware, Keeler is known for being a heavy critic of Sanders and the Buffaloes.

Deion Sanders & Buffs Look To Rebound From Ugly 2023 Finish
The Buffaloes jumped out to a perfect 3-0 start, including a stunning road win against the 2022 national runner-up TCU Horned Frogs. But the Buffaloes could not sustain that momentum, losing eight of their final nine game to finish with a 4-8 record.
Losing two-way star Travis Hunter for three games (lacerated liver) didn’t help matters, not to mention that quarterback Shedeur Sanders took more sacks than any other quarterback in the nation.
The Buffaloes recruited several new offensive linemen, however, and a healthy Hunter promises to make a significant difference. Love or hate the Buffs, they’re in a good spot to improve this year.
