The rest of the WNBA might be in serious trouble now that Caitlin Clark has gotten some much-needed rest following the Paris Olympics break and is playing better than ever.

It was a feisty affair between the Indiana Fever and Seattle Storm over the weekend. Not only did Caitlin Clark receive a technical foul, but the two teams’ respective coaches, Christie Sides, and Noelle Quinn got into a back-and-forth by the end of the game.

All of that made people forget what happened when Storm star Skylar Diggins-Smith appeared to go out of her way to bump Clark in frustration.

Diggins-Smith could be seen purposely speeding up and veering right into Caitlin Clark at the last second as the rookie was motioning for the crowd to get louder.

The moment Clark fired up the crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis happened in front of Storm’s bench.

Following that moment, footage seemingly caught Clark telling Skylar and Seattle to “stop crying.”

Caitlin Clark is not your typical rookie. She does not rattle easily, and she possesses the skills to do whatever she wants on the basketball court.

This was Indiana’s and Seattle’s second game back from the Olympic break. Clark’s 29-point, 10-assist outing led the Fever to a 98-89 win over Phoenix.

According to ESPN, Clark scored 23 points, five rebounds, and nine assists in the game against Seattle.

Caitlin Clark Sets Another Rookie Record

The Fever avoided a season sweep from the Seattle Storm with an impressive 92-75 victory Sunday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Caitlin Clark only needed two assists to break a 26-year-old WNBA record, and she had nine in this game.

She surpassed Ticha Penicheiro’s WNBA rookie record of 224, which was set in 30 games with the Sacramento Monarchs in 1998.

Clark got the record in only 28 games.

The 2024 Paris Olympics concluded with Team USA achieving remarkable success. Despite recent criticism from basketball fans for not selecting Caitlin Clark on the roster, the American women’s basketball team made history by winning their 8th consecutive gold medal. Following the international competition, Clark, the standout player from the Indiana Fever, displayed impressive skills on the WNBA court.

In her first game after the Olympics against the Phoenix Mercury, the 22-year-old star player delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 29 points, 10 assists, and grabbing 5 rebounds in 36 minutes of play.

However, during a post-game interview, Clark expressed dissatisfaction with her performance. When asked by reporters, she admitted that she needs time to regain her dominance after the prolonged break due to the Olympics.

“I called for a sub six minutes in, if I’m being honest. And I was like, holy cow… I was like I need a quick minute here (laughing), because we were playing fast and then my defense isn’t as good and is kind of a liability for my team. So, just gotta get a second to breathe,” Clark said.

Numerous fans and other players, including a legendary former NBA player have praised Clark’s performance.

Kevin Garnett Awestruck by Clark’s Stunning Performance

Kevin Garnett, often considered one of the greatest power forwards of all time, was amazed by Clark’s skills during the first game after the Olympics. The former NBA player recently praised the Fever star in his latest post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“What if @CaitlinClark22’s Olympic break was the off-season adjustment for the league that @wnba rookies don’t get before their 1st season… shyt looked crazy out there yesterday…Can tell she was in the film room..” Garnett wrote.

Clark is regarded as one of the greatest collegiate players ever and has achieved numerous milestones. In the 2024 WNBA season, the former Iowa player averaged 17.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in 27 games. Seeing Clark’s performance in the upcoming game against the Seattle Storm will be exciting.
