An MLB umpire had the announce crew making a massive deal over what he wore while officiating a game between the Los Angeles Angels and Atlanta Braves on Saturday. Wayne Randazzo, who works as an announcer for the Angels, noticed the ump had an odd undershirt during the match and did a great job pointing it out.

That said, ‘Seinfeld’ hasn’t aired in a long time, with the last episode coming out in May 1998, but the sitcom still resonates with many people today, including umpire James Hoye.

Randazzo and his colleague, Mark Gubicza, found that out at Saturday’s game. Atlanta’s Whit Merrifield had hit a home run at the top of the fifth inning when Wayne Randazzo noticed Hoye’s choice of clothing during the replay.

“This will certainly be confirmed as a home run,” he said, before noticing the ‘Seinfeld’ character on Hoye’s undershirt.

“That’s Kramer on his shirt,” he observed. “Look at that. A picture of Kramer on his shirt.”

“Yes he does,” Gubicza agreed. “That’s Cosmo Kramer.”

“That’s unbelievable. What a sequence we just saw. A rare home run off that,” Randazzo said through some laughter. “Look at this picture. That’s ridiculous.”

Wayne Randazzo Was Everyone After Seeing The Ump’s Undershirt

Fans were just as piqued as Wayne Randazzo after the clip above went viral online.

“Another example of how umpires always want to be the centre of attention 👎🏽,” a fan said.

“He’s a loathsome, offensive brute… Yet I cannot look away,” another joked.

“Randazzo needs a more prominent role than Apple and Angels broadcasts. The guy is such a throwback and is being wasted immensely,” someone suggested.

“Imagine if he had a deal with a sick kid like Kramer?” a Seinfeld fan account commented.

The announcer later took to X/Twitter with claims that the bit was “Pretty much a top 3 highlight of my career.”

While Randazzo has had a very impressive career, he’s probably not wrong.
