Serena Williams came with the jokes for the ESPYs on Thursday night.
The tennis legend took shots at Harrison Butker and Pat McAfee while she brought a Caitlin Clark wisecrack along with her too.
Williams would compare Clark – who was nominated for three awards – to NBA great Larry Bird, noting three similarities.
“Caitlin Clark had an amazing year and is nominated for three awards,” she said. “Caitlin, you are the Larry Bird in that you are an amazing player, you have ties to Indiana, and white people are really crazy about you.”

Clark was not present but must have laughed when she saw this.
Caitlin Clark Won Two ESPYs on The Night
The Indiana Fever rookie won two of the three awards she was nominated for. With the best women’s athlete, best record-breaking performance, and best women’s college athlete awards up for grabs, she received all but the first. That one went to Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson.
The former Iowa guard had a remarkable year, helping the Hawkeyes reach a second successive National Championship Game while becoming the NCAA’s highest-ever scorer.
She was drafted No. 1 overall by the Fever earlier this year and averages 16.7 points, 7.6 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game, having also become the first rookie to register a triple-double in WNBA history.
As noted above, Clark was not present at the ceremony. She sent a video message to convey her gratitude.

The woman now being described as the “Hawk Tuah” Girl’s competitor or imposter didn’t just spring out of nowhere.
In fact, she’s been going viral way before Haliey Welch coined the term, though hardly to the degree Welch has, given all the money she’s been making off social media.
With the “Hawk Tuah” phrase having made Haliey a celebrity of sorts, other women are looking for theirs too, and a video of a female calling Haliey boring before saying she’s “farting on it” has popped up online.
