Many people were confused when ESPN announced they would let go of NFL and college football analyst Robert Griffin lll. The Athletic credits the firing to “financial decisions” and effectively ends Griffin’s tenure at the network since 2021.
However, it seems that Griffin and his wife, Grete Griffin, are looking at the situation positively. RGlll went to X to post a clip of the movie “Friday” with the quote, “How you gonna get fired on your day off?” Grete then replied to the post, “Onto bigger and better things.”
Despite the negative situation, it’s clear that the Griffin family is not worried about the future, and neither are fans of the couple.
“100%. As a Cowboys fan I love RG3….which is saying something lol. Gods rejections are Gods protection. No doubt that something better than you both can imagine will happen next,” said another.

“Sometimes we take the things (people) we like for granted. RG3 is made for TV and social media. Very likable, shares his family in the coolest way possible and just a great person. Yes, bigger and better it will be, can’t wait to see. Ok, back to my vacation,” added a third.
There’s no doubt that Griffin will land with a new network in no time.
Robert Griffin lll Continues To Work On Social Media Game Amid Firing
When something so major like this happens in someone’s life, there’s an expectation they could take time and reevaluate where they’re at.
That couldn’t be less true for Griffin. Even hours after news broke of his firing, he was already on X, sharing opinions on NFL news.

According to The Athletic, ESPN fired NFL Countdown host Sam Ponder and analyst Robert Griffin III. The moves are for “financial reasons” and are similar to those of many other networks.
However, despite the bad news, RGIII continues to do what he loves: report NFL news. In his latest tweet, he gave opinions about the Atlanta Falcons acquiring pass rusher Matthew Judon, and many online joked and showed support for the situation.
“can you break ur firing??” said one commenter.
“Bro got fired and posted this,” said another about Griffin
“Bro, you are undervalued at ESPN. Can’t wait to see unfettered and independent RGIII or see you go to Fox,” said another in support.
“One of the few times I’ll ever say this- but espn screwed up. Don’t know the behind the scenes but bright things ahead!” added a fourth.

“My son and I enjoy listening to your broadcasts. You are one of the stars in the business. All my best as you take a position of greater importance and impact. Go Noles,” stated a fifth.
Of course, Griffin has been with ESPN since 2021 and had many fans.
Robert Griffin III Will Likely Find A New Job Soon
Griffin turned a successful yet short NFL playing stint due to injuries into an amazing career as an NFL and college football analyst.
That’s why it was so surprising that he was let go from ESPN with two whole years left on his contract. He was also one of the most beloved by the public throughout the station.
However, he is expected to find a new network soon to continue informing his nearly three million followers across both Instagram and X.
