Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley responded to the notion that wide receiver Stefon Diggs is a “diva.”
Cole Beasley and Stefon Diggs spent three years together with the Bills (2020, 2021 and 2022). They helped Josh Allen emerge as an MVP candidate and guided Buffalo to a 2020 AFC Championship Game appearance, the franchise’s first in 27 years.
After constant trade rumors and reports that Diggs was a problem in the Buffalo locker room, he was finally sent to the Houston Texans in April. Houston also received 2024 sixth and 2025 fifth-round picks, sending only a 2025 second-rounder in return.
During his appearance on “The Locker Room with Landry Locker”, Beasley was asked about the idea that Stefon Diggs was a “diva.” The usually outspoken Beasley came to Diggs’ defense:
“A diva is like…someone who’s like scared to get their hands dirty. Stef is one of the hardest working players that I’ve played with. There’s been a lot of guys I’ve played with that don’t want to practice….He’ll fight through everything.”
The term “diva” in American football is usually applied towards wide receivers. Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco, Dez Bryant, Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr. are among the more well-known NFL WRs who were often called divas.
